U12 NEWS...
Note from Chris - December 08 Dear All, We're heading towards Christmas, so I thought it might be helpful to let you know what the arrangements are for football and related things. The last training session of this year will be on 15th December, and we will resume again on 5th January. Both teams have matches scheduled for 14th December and 4th January. At the moment the 21st December is free, but there is no guarantee that the league won't schedule fixtures for that day. You'll hear from the team manager as usual. We won't be asked to play on 28th December unless someone at the league has completely lost their marbles. Rain jackets have been ordered for the players, so we are guaranteed no rain for the rest of the season. We are in the process of booking for the skittles evening at the Jack O'Newbury. I'll let you know the date as soon as it's confirmed and in January we'll be selling tickets. I hope the boys have enjoyed their first term of 11-a-side football. The Panthers have made an outstanding start and are dominating their league. Meanwhile the Pumas have been playing in a league of teams that have had a year's experience of 11-a-side previously but after a run of defeats are now competing with the best teams in the Premier Division. The boys can be proud of their achievements so far and I look forward to seeing their further development in the new year As always, if you have any concerns about your son's football and particularly if you feel that there is something we can do to improve his enjoyment of playing at Pinewood then don't hesitate to talk to your team manager or to me. I wish you and yours a great Christmas break. Regards, Chris ************************************************************************************************************************************* NIGHT OUT FOR THE PARENTS!!! We, the coaches of the U12 age group, would like to propose a night out for all parents and other supporters of the Panthers and Pumas so that we can get to see you somewhere more relaxed than the edge of a football pitch. The plan is to book the skittles bar at the Jack O'Newbury in Binfield on the evening of Saturday 31st January for some food, drinks and highly competitive fun. Before booking I'd like to get an idea of numbers. Could you please let me know if you'd like to come along (and how many of you there are) at a price of £9.50 per head which covers the skittles and food? Go on ... it'll brighten up your winter. Note that date and price may change a bit so for now I'm just looking for your interest in principle. PLEASE LET CHRIS HILTON KNOW ASAP IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO GO. ************************************************************************************************************************************* Start of U12 season email from Chris Hilton (11/8/08).................. Dear All, The new football season is almost upon us. As most of you are aware, for the 2008/9 season the boys are moving to 11-a-side football and will be competing in the North East Hants Youth League. I'm very pleased that the vast majority of boys have decided to stay with Pinewood for the U12 season and so we are able to form two strong squads. The Panthers will be in Division 3 and the squad is: Alex Cox, James Furse, Lewis Graham, Oliver Lambert, Aaron Mellor, Ben Payton, Matthew Raymen, Henry Jourdan, Elliot Jewitt, Elliot Lloyd, Conor Pharo, Robbie Rogan, Laurence Turner, Freddy White, Jack Saunders, Richie Peras, Archie Roberts and Thomas Reynalds. Their coaches are Ian Furse (manager), Roger Graham and Martin Turner. The Pumas will be in the Premier Division and the squad is: Max Austin, Thomas Burns, Jake D'Arcy, John Dillon, Ryan Firth, Ben Hilton, Matthew Kemp, Savas Kesken, Liam Powell, Tom Pulley, Daniel Riddington, Tom Savage, Lewis Sharp, Jack Thomson, Joe Warren and Conal Watterson. Their coaches are Scott Sharp, Colin Dillon, Nick Warren and myself (manager). It is not easy to predict how well individuals will get on with the new format so we will review the squads as the season progresses to ensure that all the boys are playing at a level at which they can thrive and enjoy their football. The boys will get new kits courtesy of Steve Peras, who has very generously provided the sponsorship required to fund them. Dates for your diary: Matches: the first competitive matches are on Sunday 7th September. Matches will take place on Sundays throughout the season, generally kicking-off in the early afternoon but sometimes in the morning. You will be informed match by match of the venue and time. A full fixture list will be published in the next few weeks - check our web-site, www.pinewoodfc.com. Training: Monday 18th August (next Monday!), 18:30-19:30 on grass on the playing field opposite the Easthampstead Park Crematorium in Bracknell (RG40 3DW) Monday 25th August, no training Monday 1st September, 18:30-19:30 on grass at the same venue as 18th August Monday 8th September onwards, 19:30-20:30 on astroturf at Wellington College.
Enjoy the rest of the summer holidays and I look forward to seeing the boys back in action for the new season and hopefully continuing to enjoy their football. If you have any problems or questions, don't hesitate to drop me a line at this e-mail address or call me on 0118 9782625 or 07986 875539. Regards, Chris
