You no longer register your child each week, please take your them to their respective coach upon arrival. If you plan to drop off and collect , please notify one of your Child's team coaches before leaving. If your child requires medication, please ensure this is left with the Coaches and ensure they have emergency contact numbers. Training Sessions ........ Training for U9's will be on a Sunday morning, at Bigshotte Park, between 10:30 - 12:00. Please arrive promptly. In the event of bad weather, training will be cancelled ie. Heavy rain, water- logged pitches or frosty conditions. The web site will be updated with the status of training whenever possible but please contact your respective Coach if you are unsure. From December 08 - February 09 training will move to the Astroturf at Bracknell Hockey Club, Birch Hill. Dates will be confirmed after the half term holidays The objective of the Coaches is to encourage enjoyment and participation, while teaching some basic routines to develop core skills (ball control, passing, shooting, movement). As children mature differently, both physically and from a co-ordination point of view, we will try to recognise this, and keep groups small within teams and children of similar development, while encouraging potential. The Coaches at Pinewood have undertaken FA training, and all training programmes will support FA guidelines. Some basic points: (1) Please ensure your Child is equipped & dressed appropriately. Specifically, Shin Pads are mandatory and football boots for grass, trainers for astroturf. The conditions can be cold and wet, so please ensure warm clothing (& gloves etc) when appropriate. When training on the astro surface players should not wear shorts as their legs are required to be covered. (2) Please ensure your child brings a drink of water, which they should place in the area allocated by the Coaches. Regular breaks are encouraged throughout the duration of the session. (3) We will try to ensure ALL children enjoy the sessions, but at this age group attention spans can still be short, so please help us by encouraging good, attentive behaviour from your child. (4) We encourage parents to get involved and help out, please volunteer your services. We are looking for parents to assist with coffee, tea etc, so please let Natalie or any of the Coaches know if you can help! This Season's Coaches ........
