From the 2010/11 season Pinewood FC will be running a Men's team !! The team will compete in the Reading Football League, which whilst subject to formal approval at the RFL AGM in June, the Club are extremely confident this will go through. As it's the team's first season it will join the RFL in Division 4, giving them plenty of time to develop and build a successful team that can climb up the league structure. Matches will be played on Saturday afternoons at Great Hollands Rec. The team will be run by Dave Brown, an ex Pinewood team Manager and Chairman, and who is a Life Honorary Member of the Club. The team currently has a number of young players, some of whom played for Pinewood in their younger years. One of the purposes of setting up the Men's team is to give the youth section a future route in football once they get to 16-18 years old. Dave will be very interested in seeing any of the current U16 and U17 players who are interested in playing men's football during the 2010/11 season. Pre-season training will start in mid July and there will be some pre-season friendly games organised in August in readiness for the start of the RFL season on 4-Sep.
