Neville Stone - Club
Treasurer
Having moved to Crowthorne in 1985, my son and daughter joined
Pinewood FC as Under 7's when Andy Webster was the manager. During
the following year the coach left and I volunteered to step in as the coach.
My previous coaching experience was with British Airways whose teams
played in the London Commercial league, where I started as a player
and manager, then progressed to coach and manager for 10 seasons.
As with most parents associated with Pinewood, the years slipped by
and when the squad completed their Under 16 season and my son
finished playing for Pinewood, I, howver, remained as previously I
had volunteered or was I volunteered !! to be the Treasurer.
I have now been Treasurer for over 10 years, during this time I have
also appeared on an ancient lawn mower, cutting the grass and
arranging the marking out of the pitches. Probably assisted by
being the treasurer P.F.C. purchased a brand new mean machine during
2006. which now cuts and rolls the pitches into bowling greens (I
wish !!)
The responsibilities of being Treasurer mean that at tournaments I
can go to the car park for several hours at a time whilst others
actually see some of the matches !! to collect monies and pay
bills and generally create mayhem at committee meetings.
